Help with Gas and Electric arrears

Hello everyone

I am a Money Advice Advisor from St. Helens Citizens Advice Bureau and we are one of 14 organisations in the UK to receive funding from the British Gas Energy Trust to help clients in financial hardship.

My role is to help clients make applications to the British Gas Energy Trust fund for grants to clear their Gas and Electric arrears.

You do not need to be a British Gas customer to apply, I have had successful applications for Scottish Power, Atlantic and Southern Electric customers. My N Power clients have had their applications automatically forwarded to the N Power Trust fund as that it also run by Charis Grants.

If you live locally to St. Helens or any of the surrounding areas (I have helped clients from Liverpool), I will be happy to book you an appointment to help you go through the form.

If you don't live locally, I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the application process or advice for completing the form. You can apply online or via a paper based application by visiting their website. I am not allowed to post links as a new user but if you just Google the Trust fund, it will come up.

I have submitted approximately 65 applications to date on behalf of clients. You can also apply for Boiler repairs/replacement, help with outstanding funeral expenses, Rent and Council Tax arrears in exceptional circumstances and help purchasing essential household items such as a cooker, fridge-freezer or washing machine.
