My dad has had lloyds tsb credit card for last 12 years, it is still active but has prob only been used one or twice in last 6 years, but the 6 years prior to that he was always quite near his limit of £3000 and paying PPI which he believed was compulsory, even although he got full pay if absent from work, and it contributed to financial problems he encountered at that time. PPI is still on the account but haven't really been any charges last 6 years because he's not been using card. Question is can he claim back any of the thousands he paid in the 6 years prior???

i'm doing a similar claim at the moment with tsb.....tried to renew an old bank charges claim under the hardship rule from 2007,but got a brick wall with that.
just sent off letters asking for ppi on old credit cards opened in 1995,one still open now,i'll keep you informed if i hear anything, but as i've seen off other comments on here that if your claim isnt 100% solid, tsb have habit of playing hard ball, even if your claim is very strong..... so not expecting to much.
havent bothered with the sar yet, just asked them to look into the accounts first,if they reject me,i'll read there reasons why its fallen through, and either let it go if they talk sense,or then go down the £10 charges (sar) route if i think i still have a case.
didnt want to spend another £30 asking for charges on accounts if i wasnt going to get anywhere in the first place.
good luck with your claim if you decide to try, i would ,you got nothing to lose other than 20 minutes to fill forms in off here, and the price of a few stamps.0
