Train season ticket
I am soon to start commuting 5 days a week from Kettering to London. It does not matter which 5 days of the week I travel on, but the timing will be 8am-5pm. I will be purchasing a season ticket and according to the East Midland Trains website this will cost £5874.70 PA.
Is there anything I can do to get the cost of this down? I am unsure of how to find any promotional codes for the purchase of the ticket and if there is anything else I can do to reduce the cost.
This is not meant to be a moan about the cost of travel, I'm just trying to secure the best possible price.

Buy via a cashback site and get 1% back.

Ask the company if they will offer a season ticket loan. Many places offer interest free ones deducted from your salary to spread the cost.
I don't think there are promotional or discount codes but Southern Rail offer an itunes voucher if you renew in January.0 -
I've looked at various split-ticketing options but can't find one which will save you money.
Do you buy a travelcard in London? Might save money if you combine the two onto one ticket. Probably not much in it though (if anything)Search for Crunchy's Debt Deletion Diary...
