ford s-max or toyota verso?
This is a follow up to my other thread. We have now narrowed it to these two cars but for the life of me cznt decide which one to go for.
the s-max has a bigger boot as i see it.the verso seems slightly cheaper.
what would you recommend and what specs to go for with each car?
budget 10-15K.
thanks in advance.

NO not again....... I thought you`d made up your mind
I`m speaking from actual experience and my feelings have not changed so I`m just cut & paste my last reply.:T
Its a `No brainer`the obvious choice is a Toyota Verso 2.0d (not 2.2d or petrol)
A full 5 star Ncap rating, unbeatable reliability, looks (Functionality out weighs beauty), 7 seats and an excellent dealer network.
A very quiet, economical (50mpg) easy to drive car thats not to big.
NO DPF
I can wholeheartedly recommend one, £15k should buy a 1 yr old TR model with 4yrs warranty remaining.:)
PS Better residual value than a Ford0 -
We've gone for the S Max (sorry Ranger!)
Got a great spec Titanium 2.0 diesel, 10 plate for under £13500
Getting it delivered on Thursday. I can't wait! :jMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Verso mainly because it will be more reliable then the ford.0

Thanks guys.
Rangers,I am a confused person. went for test drive for both today. The verso is easier to drive whilst s-max felt too big for me(am a woman). at the same time the s-max is more roomy. my husband was in the middle seat(for both drives) and he felt the s-max was more comfortable if you are a passenger (hence my continued confusion).
Metranil, how did you get such a good deal?all the s-max I ve seen are much pricier than that!0 -
verso, for reliability and resale value alone.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

I've been looking at the Renault Modus, I might have a look at the verso, tbh the resale price seems similar, so it's affordable.0 -

I haggled the price down a bit and we are PX'ing our Golf too. I took it for a test drive yesterday and it is really lovely to drive and in great condition.
Only 31k on the clock, one previous owner and he had the x pack added so it has part leather seats, panoramic sunroof, rear privacy glass, DAB radio and a load of other bells and whistles - OH is pleased! :rotfl:Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
