Insurance reporting to Credit Ref Agency

Hi,

I've just taken out a home insurance policy with Royal SunAlliance.

The premium is paid monthly. They make refrence to reporting the conduct of the account to a credit ref agency.

Is this true?

Thanks

I seem to remember that RSA do a credit check when you take a quote/policy. I do not believe that it is visible to other searches though. I could be wrong.

If you enter an agreement to pay over 12 months rather than up front then it is quite likely that they will.

Household insurance is an annual contract. If you cannot pay annually, then most providers allow a monthly option and these are usually treated as credit agreements. Some do not charge interest but some do.

It is more a case of increasing rules and regulation requiring more disclosure rather than something new happening.
