Screen Cleaner Reccommendation Please

When I got my mac I bought a sreen cleaner. The one I got in Mr T was made by Fellowes which came with tissue like cleaning cloths and wasn't that cheap. It has never been very good and takes forever getting the fingermarks off. Then I am left with a sort of smeary look no matter how much I polish and I am nervous of polishing too much as I would hate to scratch the screen as the cloths are not that soft. Does anyone know of a really effective cleaner (preferably not too budget busting as it is January after all!!) I would be grateful for your thoughts and experience before I waste any more money!:D

Someone gave me a bottle of dr magic screen cleaner at Christmas, that seems to do a good job. Shamefully I hadn't cleaned my laptop screen since I bought it last March but it's lovely and clear these days. It comes with its own microfibre cloth, you spray the solution on to the cloth and wipe the screen. I'd recommend it.

It isn't cheap but iKlear is the best you can get, especially for Macs as their screens can be sensitive to abrasive cleaners.

I administer a fleet of 50+ Macs as my day job and always use this stuff now as I have tried lots of others and none work as well.

A kit like this would do you good:

As I said, its not cheap!

BlueC, No not a bargain price but I would hate to scratch my screen and how much to replace that? I think an investment and it's good to hear from someone in the know as it were.:T

Dr. Magic is great and you can buy it from pound stores. I believe it the same product may be sold under different names such as Signalex in other stores. It doesn't contain alcohol so shouldn't damage other parts e.g. trim etc. of the laptop.

Fellowes is good but can be a little pricey.

Do not use household glass cleaners!

You can also make your own screen cleaning solution cheaply using diluted vinegar.

Whichever solution you decide to use, remember to spray it on the cloth first then wipe the screen to avoid it dripping into the LCD frame and then into the electronics.

This website has some information on how to clean laptop LCDs:
