Hi I am on night 3 in a 5 star hotel on the coast due to check out in the morning, typing on my phone, the hotel is not what I would grade 5 star more 2 to 3 star I have a whole page of complaints and made a video showing the room and the dirt mould etc I just wanna know my rights when it comes to checking out in the morning all help comments welcome, the room is normally 180 I'm paying 400 for three nights but really think it worth 100 for 3 nights also had bad tummy after drinking the beer from the bar lasted a day and half as soon as I switched to my bought bottles I was better, everything is on tab food was good though I'm tempted to just leave now, really need to know what my rights are, not looking to get out of paying but had a non 5 star experience and reluctant to pay all that money for what I got.

just explain your dissatisfaction and what you are not prepared to pay for as it was not up to scratch. You should really bring it to their attention to rectify it first though.
Five star ratings are given by accredited external organisations such as the aa or visit england though, so if they say it is five star it is. Is it a hotel or a guest house with five stars?
The beer thing will be difficult to prove though, unless the whole hotel has gone down with icky tummy at the same time.0 -

so why didnt you complain about the room straight away or are you just after a freebie
if it was me checking in to a dirty room i would be straight down to the reception
why dont you name the hotel as well you might get more help0 -
Hi I'm not after a freebie although like value for money and when I find mould and dirt and a balcony not fit for purpose it makes me not wanna pay this kind if money I will offer half price show the manager the reasons why tbh would preference would be a nice hotel and pay full price0

I'd love to know what these "bought bottles" are that made your tummy better. I think we could all do with some of those.never chew the umbilical cord!!0

You really should have complained as soon as you had a problem, and given the hotel an opportunity to put things right.
I really don't think it's right for you to stay for three whole nights without a murmur and then say at the end that you are not prepared to pay the bill in full.0 -
Back home now, i had little signal so was hard to reply, basically there was a lot of things wrong i had pointed out one to the hotel manager previously, which wasnt rectified, things that happened or that i noticed as time went on, dirt mould cobwebs and much more, any how wrote down everything , and showed the manager the room on checkout, and she cancelled the bill , i didnt ask it was offered,i just paid for food and drink, i didnt want to start complaining about everything before checkout as i wouldnt of wanted to stay there after, as its a small place, moving room wasnt an option, anyhow im happy with the outcome, and suprised people on here are quick to say i should put up with it, to rectifiy they would had to bring workmen and a team of cleaners i didnt want that during my stay, i didnt even want to complain full stop , i went to relax. Anyhow as they have agreed to get the room up to standard repaint, clean properly and repair, and cancelled my bill, im happy with that and wont be naming the hotel.0

Not sure I could relax in a dirty room. If I go to a hotel I check everything very carefully and if I am not happy I ask to be moved straight away. It does not matter wether its a 5 star of a travelodge I expect a good standard where ever I go.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
