I hope you don't mind but can I ask which diet you are on ?

I did Atkins and lived on it for three years and did really well, and I was a bit worried to see you saying you are following a low-carb, high protein diet, and not allowed to have much fat.

I know from my time on Atkins that the body can only get it's energy from two sources - carbs and fat. If you cut carbs drastically, it switches over to getting energy from fat. It can get energy from protein, but it is much more difficult, and not very efficient.

Low carb diets are becoming much more accepted by doctors as being a good way to shift weight for some people, but I think there are still a lot of concerns about high protein diets because of the affects on the body.

Sorry if you have looked at all this and are aware of the issues!

I have slowly gained weight over the last ten years and now I am doing a low carb high protein diet to gradually loose it. I understand this way may not be a healthy way of doing it but I have made up my mind. I have been on diet for the last few days having tofu, quorn and eggs for protein and I am forever hungry. Therefore the reason to introduce meat again.
A fat vegetarian is one that eats too much dairy, cereal, bread, and processed food (treats such as chocolate, cakes and biscuits). Stop eating those and the problem is solved.

I unintentionally lost an astonshing amount of weight in the first week that turned vegan - because in my meticulous meal planning I forgot to include any bread or carbohydrates. You could eat unlimited quantities of healthy Indian curry, vegetable dishes and soups you want to (most do not require any dairy products) and still lose bucket loads of weight.
