It is a seller's responsibility to get the item to you. If it is lost in the post, that is the seller's problem, not yours. The seller, not you, has a contract with the Royal Mail (it's not in writing but it is clearly there anyway) - to the effect of 'I pay you, you deliver my parcel'. Royal Mail has the right to require evidence that the parcel was posted, hence the need for a Certificate of Posting. If the seller didn't get one, that's his/her fault. It's completely irrelevant to you.

In short, the seller is apparently in breach of contract. You have raised it with him; he has not responded; so raise it with Play.

When did you place the order? How much was the order?

I presume you paid by debit card or credit card? (And not via Paypal).

If it's more than 30 days since the order then, formally cancel the order in writing (email is fine - if you haven't already) and:

    1. If over £100 and you paid by CC then raise a Section 75 claim on your CC company.

    2. If under £100 then raise a Chargeback via your DC or CC company (if Visa or Mastercard).
