  • Hey thank goodness for this thread- i went for my first smear last year and was called back for another- this time the nurse said it was inflamed and cervix haad a bit of blood and shot out to get a doctor- who declined to come in. I have been panicking since- helped along by use of google! Not sure if it's psychosomatic but i spotted heavily a few day later so very anxious. I also had sti tests which were clear but i am still very worried as my family has a history of cancers (all sorts esp breast and colon which are apparently also linked to cervical). Always had issues with my bits os it shall have a lok on jos trust and see if i can get more info.

    Have you had the results back yet for your latest smear?

    With regards to spotting a few days later I wouldn't be to worried. It can be normal to bleed following a smear. After all your cervix did have cells scraped from it.

    Well I know myself that it's practically impossible but try not to worry.

    I have my 6 month follow up smear on Monday 23rd Jan following treatment for CIN3 cells in July, a bit scared to be honest.

    I'm not surprised. I think it's natural to feel anxious.

    Back in 2000 I went for my 1st smear, I was told to go back in 6 months and after that smear again was told to go back in 6 months. Upon these results I was given an appointment to go to the hospital and was told I had cancerous cells and would have them taken care of.

    Since then I have been going back every 6 month (well supposed to, stupidly sometimes it has slipped my mind for a year or so) and my last one was due last June but again (Please don't judge) I have yet to go. I will go and get it done but I have my reasons for putting it off.

    :kisses2::smileyhea:love: 1st June 2012 @ 1pm I married the man of my dreams!!!

    I can't imagine what your going through. No wonder you must be anxious about going back all those times, we're only human so don't be so hard on yourself. Maybe you should check out Jo's Trust - they have a forum where others who are going through exactly what you are going through share their experiences and support each other. Good luck and be brave. x
