Capital One have I been successful (response included)

I have applied for a capital one account online, I signed the credit card agreement online by taking my name and confirm then I got this screen (below).

Is this a standard response for everyone or would I have got a decline screen if I would been declined? Does this mean I have been accepted or declined. I had bankruptcy around 2 years ago and haven't had any credit since...

It means that you have not had an immediate accept or decline and that it will be looked at so there is a chance that you could be accepted.

Its a standard response if your not instantly accepted but if they need more information they will write to you.

They should let you know in seven days but at least you weren't instantly declined so that's a good thing.

I had the same email and was sent' a letter asking me to sign an agreement and send it back I've received my pin just waiting for my card to show up now but good luck

That's a 50% chance, my wife applied and got instant acceptance and the follow message comes up:

Congratulations, *****

Your application is complete and you should be recieving your card and PIN in the post in the next 5-7 days.

I had the same message. My application was declined though.

If you want to know the outcome before the letter arrives, give them a ring in a few days time quoting your 16 digit reference number.

I applied on Thursday evening - called up today (2 days later) and was given outcome.

Will try appealing I guess!

First time I applied for one ages ago I got the same online response ! But a letter saying I have been declined ! A few weeks ago I applied again and was approved for a 'Secured Card' asking me to deposit £100 for a £200 Credit limit !! Can't complain, In the process of rebuilding my credit anyways !

I applied for a Captial One progress and got that screen 10 days ago. Didn't hear anything else until my pin letter arrived, followed 4 days later by my card.

Full limit of 1200 and no security, am pretty pleased... I always pay my student credit card off in full at the end of each month, but sometimes for bigger transactions the £500 natwest one simply isn't high enough.

I have had a similar on screen reponse to notsurewhat2doo, but in my case it says "your unique reference number is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Please quote this if you need to contact us before you receive your card." - Fingers crossed.

An application being referred often has nothing to do with your credit. It often means they just couldn't get your credit report in 30 seconds (Certain times and days of week your credit report can't be accessed and other times its just being slow).

I had something similar with the Aspire World card, not accepted straight off then no feedback until pin arrived and card later with £10K limit.

I would have liked a "Welcome to Capital One" e-mail or letter first and perhaps not such a high limit. I think they look at what other cards you have and just offer more.
