Newly passed driver insurance?

Can anybody recommend a company who are reasonable with newly passed drivers? I've tried confused.com and looked at options through quidco but they are still pretty steep.. Its for my friend she is 36 and the car will be a 2000 Ford Ka 1.3

Have a look at Kwik-Fit and the RAC. Probably the former, Endsleigh and Tesco are others worth looking into.

I have just insured my 17 yearold daughter and Kwik-Fit were the cheapest.

Insuring a car is a real pain...you could spend a week doing it!!

Does she have a partner who has had a licence for a while and has no-claims. If so, just naming this person on the policy as an extra driver can make a huge effect on the premium. When I tried this for someone else, the cost halved. Not sure if it has to be a partner/spouse you add but worth a try

have a look at alliance auto direct that was my first one, or hastings direct they can be cheaper

Oh, that's not what I found. But I guess it depends on who you were adding. For me, the person to be insured was my partner and had just passed her test. I added myself as an additional driver with full no claims and access to one other car. The prices halved.

Have you tried the other comparison sites listed in this article ?

For newly passed drivers, often Admiral/Bell/Elephant are cheapest.
