Board guides please move this if it is in the wrong place
I am having problems toasting my panasonic-made bread. Grill on my old oven is hopeless (and replacing the oven is not an option at the moment). The bread sticks out of my little old toaster so the top 1/3rd doesn't get toasted.
So it looks like my best option is to buy a toaster which takes larger (and wider) slices (I am passing my old toaster on to my DD so I am being very MSE). Which toasters do you use? I am asking here as I know a large number of you use breadmakers and will understand the problem.

We have a cheapy toaster and we cut the slices in half BEFORE toasting and do them that way. (Or we use the grill if making a lot.)May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Oh, and it's easier to cut the slices fairly thin on the second day. The loaf's usually too soft on the day it's made.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Thank you Gingham Ribbon - have tried cutting in half but would like to be able to whole slices. The current toaster is a two slicer so it takes a while to a batch for the family this way.Enjoying an MSE OS life0

If you buy a 4-slice toaster (designed to toast 4 square slices of supermarket sliced bread) you can put your long slices of Panasonic bread in it sideways.
I used to do this with bloomer bread before I had a Panasonic.
Alternatively if you made a 400g loaf instead of a 500g it would probably fit in your old toaster.0 -
Or you can turn the slices half way through cooking so both ends get done?May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I have a 4 slice toaster and a panny. They are still too tall (large loaf) so I always do as GR suggests and turn them halfway.July Win: Nokia 58000

I've been looking out for a toaster that will cope with BM slices too. No luck so far.
There's got to be a good niche in the market for a toaster like this now. I wonder if I ought to design my own!Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
