We are planning a trip to CP Elveden in April this year. We have stayed in the mid range Original style Executive before and loved it. However, this year we have an option of a 3 bed Comfort Plus or a 2 bed New Style Woodland lodge.
Has anyone stayed in either and can recommend either? Neither state an en suite and looking at the layout the only toilet is right by the front door where we will be stashing our bikes. Surely they must have a toilet in the main bathroom? I know the New Style is kitted out with Tara? decor but we are not fussed as Original style wasn't.
Has anyone had any problems or issues with the standard of the Comfort Plus or new Style?
Many thanks for any advice offered and am sooooo looking forward to going back! :j

We've stayed in both Comfort Plus and the Woodland Lodges, and the main difference between the two is the decor...... other than that there is very little difference. You don't get ensuites and from what I can recall there is a toilet in the bathroom as well as the separate one next to the door......... but I'm not 100%
You could ask on their facebook page as they do regularly answer question on there.
I have to say, personally I prefer the woodland lodges.0 -
We stayed in a comfort plus and it was fine. There was a toilet in the hallway area, and then another toilet in the main bathroom.
You don't get bathroom towels with the comfort plus, so we had to take our own.
We went in the serious minus temps last winter and it got down to something extreme like -10°C one night, but were toasty and warm inside. I was surprised at how warm they were. Here I go again on my own....0 -
We stayed in a comfort plus in Whinfell and it was fantastic. It was a 3 bedroom and it was gigantic, although it was originally an Oasis so the lodges are a bit different. We had a loo in the master bedroom en-suite, one in the upstairs bathroom and one in the hallway. My sister was in a 2 bed comfort plus and they only had one loo, in the main bathroom though.
The comfort plus decror was perfectly adequate, not fancy but it was neutral, it was clean, it was well laid out and it was spacious. We did get towels too.
I wouldn't get a comfort because they don't have a dishwasher and holidays are not for washing dishesDebt £26k 18/10/140 -
Thanks for the replies so far! It has put my mind at ease and TBH from the replies to date I would be happy with either.0

I think it must have been comfort we had then, as we didn't have a dishwasher! Here I go again on my own....0

We have just returned from Elvedon family party, 2 * comfort + villas, absolutely appalling filthy run down equipment dirty broken or just not there, have been going to centre parcs for 17 years because of this visit will never go again. Have made formal complaint ongoing and will be posting detailed review on trip advisor shortly0

The comfort villas are anything but comfortable in my view. The executive villas are (again in my view) required to get what I would consider a reasonable (not plush or luxury) level of accomodation. I also would prefer towels provided and a dishwasher. We only ever stay in executive villas after trying a comfort once (never again!) and yet it has now reached the point as they are getting older that even these are sometimes tired and not acceptable for the price they charge for them. We are going next week and have changed from our usual parc to another CP to see if the exec villas there are a bit newer. I would go for the best level of accom that you can afford and if you are choosing between two types of similar price then call them up and ask which was most recently built/refurbished. Many new style exec or new style woodland villas are old comfort villas refurbished so whether you get a loo just inside the entrance door is due to whether it was previously a comfort villa or not.
Edit - just seen OP was from Jan so I expect you are living it up in CP as I type! Was about to delete my reply but thought I'd leave in case it helped anyone in future. Do update us on what you chose and what it was like. Not been to Eleveden but we are off to Longleat on Monday!MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0 -
Now you see, I'm totally different. I always pick the cheapest accomodation possible, as the beds are always comfy and we don't need a dishwasher just for a weekend when we tend to just eat nibbles or eat out. I only ever stay at Whinfell though, so I don't know if it's different elsewhere.0

New Style Woodland are just redecorated Comfort/Comfort Plus lodges. I prefer them in some ways as the decor is pretty tired in the Comfort ones. On the other hand, the new design is a case of style over practicality. There are no drawers at all in the bedrooms - just a wardrobe and open shelves. Personally, I like to have my pants in a drawer rather than on a shelf! The lounge is a combination of easyJet orange and dark green.
I've stayed in 2-bed New Style Woodland and there are two toilets - one in the main bathroom and one by the front door. No en-suites.
Re towels - they are provided in Comfort Plus. They are not provided in Comfort (the most basic accommodation).0
