Health Lottery Credit Search !!

Options
Hi,
Not sure if this is the correct place to put this but I have just had an equifax alert to say a search was made on my credit report and found this:

HEALTH LOTTERY FINANCIAL LTD-192 , a Third party company, has made an inquiry against your credit report on 07/01/2012 . If you were not aware of or did not consent to this search, contact HEALTH LOTTERY FINANCIAL LTD-192 or Equifax for clarification.

Any ideas anyone ??.

Are you taking part in this lottery and asking about the check or is this a total mystery to you?

Are you sure that it is a credit check and not just an identity check on on your CRA files to combat money laundering ?

Camelot/National Lottery do identity checks against CRA files so I suppose the Health Lottery will be doing the same.

    Hi,
Thanks for that, the Equifax alert system unfortunately does not tell me what type of check it is, but yes I suppose after reading the other thread it does now make sense so thanks for that.

I did register online a few months back with this lottery although I always played in store and never online and as such asked them to close my online account last week, which by some strange coincidence seems to be the date of this search, but to be honest I have stopped playing anyway as I am not sure it was as good as it was made out to be for the health charities themselves as I don’t think they get much out of it.

    Thanks Again.

Yes, its an ID search, but must agree with you. Did the HL for a couple of weeks and then switched back to the National Lottery. I think a lot of other people have done the same (a lot of people I know have).

    Hi

Does anyone know how to officially complain about Camelot - other than the camelot complaints email on their site?

I closed my account months ago and they are still making unrecorded enquiries on my Experian account! I called them up and they don't understand it and said they couldn't help!!

Does anyone have experience of this?

A lot of companies keep making unrecorded queries on my credit report, mainly insurance, lottery, all the banks I'm with, etc. Since it makes no difference to me I really don't care.

Now if it was from someone I never heard of, I might be more concerned.
