Condensation on Windows

I've just had new windows fitted (argon filled low-e) they are fitted with tricle vents but we are still getting condensation on the bottom of the glass where it meets the frame. We had our windows replaced because we had the problem with our old windows.
Can anyone help??

  • Yeh live with it! Harsh as it sounds i dont think you will get rid of it for ever. Depends on the weather outside and how warm your house is, how much humidity is in your house, how much your house breathes. Might just have to live with it.
If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.
  • We live in a 1970's semi and all the houses in the road are like it. Our neighbours had new windows put in, also thinking that this would stop the condensation, but they still have the same problem. We leave the windows open a little in the mornings, bit of a pain though. At least you know you have good quality windows in now though :)

Sure it's on the inside? Otherwise sounds like you need a dehumidifier. I have D/G and still use a dehumidifier if I've have to dry washing over the radiators etc.

i have noticed this over the last few days, however today have noticed beads of water on the bedroom ceiling that would appear to be condensation.

The bit of the ceiling that it has appeared on is in the corner on the wall where it joins next door, the house next door has been empty for about 3 months do you think this is the reason?

I ordered a dehumidifer yesterday so am hoping that this will be the end of the condensation problem, I do usually open windows during the day but think I will have to leave them open slightly at night

    Either that or stop breathing.

Hermetically sealed house = condensation somewhere.
