I ran a wanted ad for an item, had a call, person said he had said item. I agreed a price, transferred money. This was before Xmas, no goods received, had a few excuses, guarantees etc but nothing. I was told I was going to get a refund today,(£165) nothing has been transferred. I will go to my bank tomorrow to double check, I don't expect to see it. I have an address, bank acc number and tel numbers. What avenue can I take, obviously I helped fund this persons Xmas.???
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Was it a bank transfer? Sounds like it was a scam. You could try the police, but I doubt they'd be too interested.Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0

There is nothing you can do-.
That might not be the case providing the info that the OP was given by the seller was correct.I have an address, bank acc number and tel numbers
You should also have the sellers name from the bank transfer, and if the address is correct then there is nothing to stop you taking legal action in an attempt to recover the money.
One thing to remember though is that even if you win, you aren't guaranteed to get the money back and you may end up losing more because of the fees involved.0
