Changing collection point for train tickets after purchase

Options
Hi can anyone help? I've bought train tickets from redspottedhanky and now I can't get to the station I chose as the collection point for tomorrow morning. Does anyone know if I can change the collection point after purchase or have I got to buy the tickets again. I hope I can as otherwise that wil be £30 I've wasted!
Thanks everyone.

I have never bought with redspothanky but I have from virgin, eastcoast, scotrail with them all you can just pick up at any station so I'm guessing that it will be the same. These days even the very local statios have machines so yo could go now and try picking up from your local station.
  • ^^^ True all you need is the credit/debit card you booked with and the booking reference number and you'll get your tickets from any ticket machine. If you used Tesco clubcard vouchers via redspottedhancy to buy your tickets then any debit/credit card will do.

  • You can't collect the tickets from any ticket machine, you can collect from any ticket machine that tickets can be collected from.

Thanks everyone. Not sure I understand your replies though. I nominated a station from whic to collect my tickets and I completed my booking. I now cannot get to that station. I can get to a train station that has a ticket collection machine but I do not know if that means I can collect my tickets from there with just the booking reference number and credit card or do I have to get redspottedhanky to change the collection point on my booking. livingthedream suggests I don't need to involve redspottedhanky at all and can just go to a different station and collect but I don't know if that will work or not and am not sure I can take the risk as I'm very tight on time. I'll let you know when I try!
  • The only reason you have to specify a station is so that you don't try and collect the tickets from a station which does not have Ticket On Departure facilities.

Currently, you can collect from any ticket machine connected to the Ticket On Departure system.

And depending where you are there may be a station near you where the ticket machines are accessible 24-hour even if the station is unstaffed.

Thanks Owain, you are correct that it doesn't matter that I specified a station. I can collect from another station provided that station has a self service ticket collection machine which it has so all's well. Thanks.
In case this helps anyone else, I was caught out last night by the fact that my train station is not open 24 hrs even though there is a self serve ticket machine there! It was shut!
  • Just for the record, the station does not have to have a self-service machine - many, if not most, staffed stations are able to issue pre-booked tickets from the ticket office.
