icelolly and ryanair questions

Personally, I have not travelled aboard for about 6 yrs, and there has been many changes, since then! It's great having a website like this as I have already picked up a lot of handy tips!
I still have a few questions, which are:-
Whilst in the airport, can I buy some food/drink and then take it on aboard, separately from the hand luggage? As I have read a lot of info that you can't take anything on board more than 100ml containers.
We will only have hand luggage with us, and I read somewhere you can go through quicker because of this. In the past, I have always had a suitcase with me, so what do we need to do when we get to the airport, apart from security checks?
I am travelling as part of a family with young children...is it going to be a mad dash for the plane!
Should I expect Ice lolly to send me boarding passes (package deal) to be posted to me? I think the operator said that we just need to take along the info e-mailed to us?
Any other handy hints would be appreciated. Thanks

While at Airport you can buy and carry anything that you can either get into your hand luggage (ensuring you stay within the size limit of the airline)and anything you can get into your pockets.

With hand luggage only and boarding pass ( Which you will need to ***print off online at least 4 hours before departure or pay a sky high fee at the Airline help desk to print it for you) you go straight to security, you wil be asked to show your boarding pass upon entry but not your passport.
Ensure you have any liquids or creams in Bottle/containers of 100ml and less. They then need to be in a clear plastic bag that you can either ziplock or reseal with a maximum of 1000ml of creams/liquids.

In a nutshell YES ! Flying with Ryanair, many horror stories but a few solutions,
1 Purchase a prority boarding pass for around £5 per person and join the 40% of others that will board first.
2. Get to the gate early and queue for up to 45 minutes to make sure you have some chance of securing seats together and also getting your hand luggage in the cabin and not put in the hold.
3. Get there when you do and accept that you may be split up as a family but not children split from one of the parents.

I have no idea but would think they would send you Ryanair booking number and you check in online yourself***.
Fire away with any questions and be assured its not as bad as it sounds"Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

As the seats aren't allocated, when you get to the boarding gate and beyond leave your other half to board the kids and you run for it and bagsy the seats. You can take sandwiches, crisps, chocolate etc from home no problem but you'll have to buy your drinks after customs.0

You will definitely need to check in online + print boarding cards for each passenger and each flight.
You can do all this at https://www.bookryanair.com/SkySales/FRManageBooking.aspx?culture=en-gb&lc=en-gb
The travel agents email should provide the Ryanair booking ref to do this. If not YOU NEED TO GET IT.
If you are hand luggage only then you just go straight thru security + to your boarding gate.Make sure hand luggage is within dimensions.
It is a free for all boarding but you can pay extra to "priority board" which means you are first to board (as long as you are at the gate on time.
Ultimately as long as the children are sitting with 1 parent, whats the big deal if the other one is a few seats away ?
BTW Ryanair are great. Just stick to their T&Cs and there will be no hassle
All you need to know is at http://www.ryanair.com/en/questions/0 -
It's not quite right that you can take "anything" onboard. There are restricted items such as sharp objects. You will find the full information HERE
You can buy liquids over 100mls after security. The Boots Meal Deal is very popular!
We had Ryanair flights a couple of months ago which were booked by a travel agent. They actually checked us in online and sent us the boarding passes, but I doubt that many travel agents would do that. You need to get your reference number from Ice Lolly and make sure you can see your booking online so that you can print off the boarding passes 15 days before travel. It will cost £40 per person each way if you don't have print them off.0 -
Didn't Ryanair bring in reserved seating for some routes. OP maybe it is worth looking to see.
something to remember is that Ryanair planes (well all the ones I've been on) don't have the pocket in the back of the seat in front. IYKWIM! so think about what you will want when seated.0
