Item delivery problem DPD

Hope someone can help me.

I ordered a couple of boiler parts online on Thursday, paid for next day delivery.

I waited in all day today, from 8am until 6pm. I was constantly checking the tracking which never updated from 'your item is out for delivery', I tried ringing DPD but it's just a recorded message with the same information, I couldn't speak to a real person.

I phoned AK Gas, the people I bought the part from who tried to get hold of the courier with no luck and they told me to wait, I eventually ran out of patience and found a direct number for the Newbury DPD depot.

The guy I spoke to told me that the parcel was delivered at 0941 this morning and signed for by a MR D COOK. Now I have been the only one in all day and I'm a woman, and that's not my name, not even close... I have asked all the neighbours, and I know there is no one by that name anywhere around here as I speak to all my neighbours. The guy I spoke to at DPD basically accused me of lying and said that 'Its definately been delivered, it's been signed for at that address!'

Not sure what happens now, as apparently there is a 'signature' but it's not mine, or anyone around here. I'll ring AK Gas in the morning but just wondering if any of you knowledgable people could give me a 'heads up' as to my rights in this situation. We need these parts urgently, and they are a lot of money.
