I'm 18 and i have no steady income. Unless they can in any way guarantee that i will get all my money back in the next 2 - 3 months WITH some interest. I can't see myself giving them all of my hard earned cash to get rid of this CCJ.
Not much of a deal with your brother is it? I give you the money but you have to give me more back than what I've lent you, or get a CCJ.
Yeah, your brother shouldnt have signed as on to this, but your other brother is the main culprit. Why should your brother have to pay you interest just because your other brother has no sense of responsibility? If anything it should be the irresponsible brother who pays you back...0 -
Read the sticky at the top about lending money to friends/family. There is nothing at all you can do to ensure either brother pays you back. The lending brother has probably worked this one out from the borrowing brother's behaviour. Only do it if you really don't mind losing your money.
Where are your parents in all this?0 -

I read a few pages yesterday, quite shocked really.
Well if i am honest, my mum doesn't have the money to lend him/them the money for this. Her credit history isn't good, she can't get any sort of credit. She 100 percent can't help.
We don't a have close family - like i don't see my nan, uncle's cousin's ect, so we can't go to them and ask. My brother who signed the papers said he doesn't want to get a loan off companies such as street loan uk as with the high interest ect and it would be embarrassing going into a place like that when your a police officer asking for a loan.
He said he can't get a police loan either as i believe they do Credit checks, and they will CCJ. Also he said the police don't really like you having CCJ's and apparently, you can lose your job ect.
The other brother who was meant to pay for the loan - won't stand a chance to get a loan either, he's credit is ********
I've decided that im not going to lend the money. I feel bad, but you got a look at it, i might not get it all back, and would they lend me the money if i was in a similar situation, probably not.0 -
Has guarantor brother actually asked you for the money? Or is he just sounding off ?
It doesn't really sound like he is in a position to pay you back in the time scale you would like.
What about his other halfs family, can they help?
All in all it sounds like a right mess, if you haven't told anyone about your money in the bank I'd just keep schtum and offer moral support and the number for CAB.0 -

LovelyLeeds. I don't know what your trying to say. Yes i do have a job, but it's on probation, so once the probation ends, i could have no job. So it's not a steady income.
So what happenedTrueUnitedFan wrote: »full time working currently been so for 2 years and 1 month.

Personally if it were me I wouldn't feel guilty about not lending the money. Your brother signed as a guarantor and at that stage he should've realised what that may entail. It might sound harsh but if he doesn't have the funds to pay it off and has no one who can help him without putting themselves in an uncomfortable position, he should take it as a bad experience that he will hopefully learn from in future.Thank you competition posters!
