what is the cheapest way to get a copy of decree niesi(divorce papers) it is 25 years old. thank you. buzzyys mate

It is probably the Decree Absolute you need - that is the evidence of a divorce.
If you know the Court which granted it and the approximate date, you should just apply to them for a copy. There is a fee involved but I'm not sure what this is now.
If you have no idea where to start, then it may be a matter of referring to the Principal Registry.

To get a copy of a divorce decree absolute or final order, contact the court where the divorce or dissolution took place.
If you know the case number, a copy of a decree absolute or final order costs £5.
If you don’t know the case number, the court will have to search for the document, and the cost is £40.
If you don’t remember which court dealt with your case, you can ask the Principal Registry of the Family Division to search its central index. This will cost £60. Fill in a form on the direct gov website. You should then return it to the Principal Registry with the fee.
