Hi
I have only this week been made redudant, what are my legal rights for starting a new job asap. My position and contract will be terminated as of the 31st January but I will be on garden leave still recieving pay plus redudancy pay.

if you are on garden leave then your employment has not been terminated.
You need to look up counternotice there are a few threads here to get you started.0 -

Nothing to stop you looking for a job and attending interviews, as long as you dont start a new job before 1st February.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
