Had Capital Card for years - and paying PPI

Hope someone can advise. I've had a Capital One card for at least 9 years and have been paying PPI all that time. I can't remember how I applied for the card, but it would have been either online or via a promotional mailing. Can I make a claim for PPI? Over the years I would have spent £1000's on it - current balance is around £6k. Can I also get the PPI cancelled without having to cancel and pay off the card?
I could do with some good luck so hope this is a good start to 2012.
Thanks

Hi,i have posted on your other thread x.0 -
I have a claim for me and one for OH with Capital one, never heard of any they paid up straight away so you are looking at a referral to the FOS (or court action). Mine are with the FOS now, but early days yet.
Definately worth banging a claim in as they have been fined at least once by the ombudsman for problems with PPI selling.
