PPI for those divorced or seperated

Hi can someone please advise if people who have been mis-sold ppi ...can they if they are now divorced or separated from their partners, can they individually make a claim for their %50 of the claim amount. ? I have been told that if you no longer together and the policy was mis-sold you cannot make a claim regardless of the fact it was mis-sold if you and your ex are no longer together or you are unable to contact the other party...so this means the 1000's of couples who were mis-sold cannnot make a claim if for example you are no longer communicating...can anyone advise or help ..Thanks

It depends.
If it is a joint policy then a firm is entitled to insist on a joint discharge of any claim against the firm.
If it is two single policies then it is possible that each may be able to complain separately.0 -
Thanks for the reply...it appears then unless both parties co-operate then the customers who are divorced, separated or whatever unless both comply the banks keep their ill gotton gains....what if one of the parties cannot be found ie emmiigrated etc...i suppose the same applies.0

Contact the bank and ask, someone posted on here a while back who was in the same position as you and the bank paid him 50% of the redress.
The only way you can find out is to ask the bank.0 -
