Help,
Can anybody tell me what my rights are. A couple of days ago I ordered 2 sofa's from next. My friend had told me that if u ordered two sofa's it was coming up with a multi save of £1100.00 instead of £100.00 meaning that the sofa's only came to £49.00 each. Obviously I ordered them. I had a receipt to say that I had ordered them and that the sofa's were £49.00 each, which I printed out.
I have received an email from next today saying that due to human error that the prices where wrong, and that this had been posted on numerous 'hot deal' websites, and that they where not honouring it, and that they had spoken to trading standards.
Do I have any rights? I thought if they advertised a product at a certain price then they had to honour it??

No they don't it was a price error its in the terms & conditions that you accept that they dont have to honour it.0

Sorry, you have no rights. This often happens and it's up to the store as to whether or not they want to honour the glitch.

Oh if I had a pound for every 'I didn't get my blatant price error item I ordered, what can I do about it?' post
Would be fantastic if we got them all!! When ordering these things I tend to assume I won't actually get them, then if I do it's a bonus.........yes it's annoying that they often take the money and we have to wait for refunds......but it's the chance you take and I always factor this in before ordering. As tamsle said "If something sounds too good to be true it usually is". We win some, we lose some. Better luck next time

if Next had debited your bank account then they would be deemed to have a contract with you and would be obliged to honour it. If they haven't debited your account then they can legally withdraw the sale.0

Wrong, the T&Cs state they accept they have a contract on dispatch, not on the taking of funds, which is perfectly legitimate under DSRs.
Up until they send the item they can cancel and refund.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

This is incorrect. The contract is formed when the goods are dispatched. Next can refuse and refund at any point up til then.
Note this is not necessarily always true, but the company's T&Cs will tell you when the contract is formed. With Next, it is on despatchOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
