Beach wedding venue on north east coast anyone?

As many of you will know we are looking at getting married June next year.
the wedding will be beach themed and we're having bit of difficulty in finding the venue.
I have found this http://www.beachcourt.com/ but I'm not sure it could cater for 20 people to eat (for the day do) let alone 50 for the evening, and it doesn't look to have anywhere for a band ect. However location wise I would book it now.
I absolutely adore this place, http://www.robinsoncrusoes.co.uk we sometimes go here for a drink when at the beach, however it hold 100 people and there isn't really a way you can section it off.
There is also this, but it looks a little dated....

Does anyone know of anything that's not maybe as well known as say Bamburgh Castle (which we've looked at but just isn't as intimate as we'd like).

I love that area of the UK; it's gorgeous.
My only suggestion; and it's prob v v unhelpful is perhaps something in the Holy Island area????? Can't recommend anywhere though but just thought I'd put it out there!0 -
We've looked at Lindisfarne on Holy Island so it's certain a good suggestion.
I think the problem is we both love Crusoes, it's just too big. Although we've been talking tonight about sectioning it off.
I'm going to make an appointment with Park Hotel and grand Hotel next week, so look at the possibility of getting married there at around 4pm (if that's the latest) and then maybe going to the hotel bar for drinks and canapes (if they could section a bit off that would be better), then going on to Crusoe's for 7pm with evening guests joining us there.
Will see what the hotels can do next week.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
I would choose the Grand over the Park any day of the week! My hubbys cousin got married at the Grand in 2008 and I was there December 2011 for my running clubs Christmas do, and both times we were looked after really well and the food was really niceGood wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.0

Unfortunately The Grand doesn't allow us to just get married there with champagne and canapes afterwards, only if we have either the wedding breakfast or evening reception there. I asked if they had private rooms for us to hire for the drinks reception but they said no, so unfortunately that's out.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Are you sure crusoe's would be too big? I think the tables etc in there are pretty packed in (not in a bad way) so if you had them put together in the middle as one big table for 20 people then moved back out to the sides/scattered for the evening it would look lush. We are getting married at the Grand and I took H2B to Crusoes for coffee last time we were visiting the Northeast and he fell in love with it too. Will be amazing when it gets dark and you can get out on the deck! oooh so excited for u just thinkin about it...oh by the way, do you know u can get married at st mary's lighthouse? You could have the ceremony there and then back to Crusoes0

We are really taken with it, it was the first place we thought of. H2B is a kitesurfer, so is absolutely ideal.
I'm going again this week to have another look, only thing is the tables are 'unique' and so not square, if you put then together to make larger tables then they wouldn't meet - if you know what I mean.
Last time we were there they opened up the window-door things onto the deck on the beach and we were OMG this is brill!
The Grand is lovely though, I've been speaking with Helen? Just trying to get an area for drinks, she mentioned the Copperfield bar, but it wouldn't be sectioned off.....Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
So will the Grand let you marry there even if you dont book a wedding breakfast/evening reception?0

No, only if we have the meal afterwards. I asked if it would be possible to pay the meal per head cost, but not have the meal, have drinks and canapes instead and was told no.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
