PPI claim

I am seriously considering putting in a claim with Halifax. My mortgage is no longer with them but my ASU is and also CIC. If I make a claim will Halifax cancel my policies??? I am not particularly bothered about the ASU but the CIC is an old one and is a good policy which I would like to keep hold of. I remember when I originally took the mortgage I was told that I HAD to take out 3 insurances which at the time didnt give it a second thought.

its not claim. Its a complaint. Claim is something you do when you are ill and wish to claim on the policy.

Yes, if you complain then the policies will be cancelled. You are making an accusation that the person that set them up did wrong and that you didnt want them. So, either that was the case or it wasnt.

So the policy is of value to you - where is the missale in that?
I remember when I originally took the mortgage I was told that I HAD to take out 3 insurances which at the time didnt give it a second thought.

    Lets see:

Buildings cover - "had to" as in "compulsory"
Mortgage Indemnity Guarantee - compulsory or not required (no half measures there)
Contents - "had to" as in "essential" because you could not afford to replace them if you had to
Life cover - essential if you have dependants relying on you to pay the interest
Income protection - essential (but may be provided by employer to a greater or lesser degree
Critical illness - in my view less important than income protection but that is not to it is without value and you certainly do value it.
