hey all wondered if you could give e a bit of advice,
my washing machine has developed a number of faults, the brushes went preventing a full 1400rpm spin i got new brushes £7.49 the pair :money: and to make matter slightly worse it wasnt draining as it should either so i purchased a new drain pump £23.00 all arrived today and has been fitted, NOW though seems the heater element has gone:mad:.
a new one will cost £33.40 + delivery and two days to get to them then another 2 days to get to me, my machine is cold water fed would it harm it if i switched the feed to hot water temporaraly while i waited a few days to get the cash together, i need a operational machine as my daughter has ADHD and seem to change clothes quite often due to the OCD element of that disability they hate dirt on their clothes so change upto 15-20 times a weekend:eek:.
my machine is 24/7 run. the last 48 hours of no washing has resulted in a pile of clothes to wash, and thats just a weekday with them in school all day, i cant go no longer with no machine there will be no clothes for them to ware by staurday afternoon. would doing that be ok for the machine???? my hot water is temp selectable, so i can set it to 20-60 degrees c if needed.

I think the problem will be the washing machine will fill with water, which will take a minute or so - so it won't have reached a very high temp from the boiler (after all there will be cold water in the pipes leading to the washing machine). It will then try and bring that up to temp - and get no where as its heater is broke and probably never start washing.
At a guess.
Have you not got friends or family near by that can help with a washing machine, or launderette?0 -
Can you not just do cold wash only til the parts get there?
my washer has cold only does yours?
it would maybe not be as clean but as a temp solution:D63 mortgage payments to go.
