Anyone know if Thomas Cook (shop) will price match their own website?

Thanks in advance

They did for me turtle, but it was more than two years ago, back in late 2004. I knew exactly what holiday we wanted so I priced it up on their website and took a print off of the screen showing the details, price etc.

I then went into the shop and asked them for a price on the same holiday, which came to more than online. I showed the assistant the print out and she went off to see the manager and then came back and said they would match the price.

I know this was a while ago, but unless anyone comes along and says they have a different experience, it's probably still worth a try. :)

  • Thanks Fleago, the only reason I ask is that my girlfriend is a bit scepticle about booking online. She's not very into the technology and she would like to request which area of the hotel we are.
Do travel agents actually listen when you request this anyway?

I don't honestly know if they do listen to requests like that, turtle. But no harm in asking, they can only say no! :)

Hope you get exactly the holiday you're after. :)
  • The answer to your question is yes they should do (well we would, if you want to PM me, I work for Thomas Cook!!)
  • when i went into my local thomas cook with a print out off the net for a holiday the snooty assistant was not at all interested and said they didnt do that type of thing so i walked out of the shop into the next travel agent and booked there!!

Try HolidayHypermarket much more friendly if you need to book with a shop.. IMO and tehy will deffinatly price match internet prices as long as they can access the deal they price match it
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

I've found the total opposite, Thomas Cook will always match or beat their own website prices for their own holidays and will go out of their way to beat or match other operators holidays.

First Choice Holiday Hypermarket will match First Choice website prices but will not match Eclipse Direct which is First Choice's Online only business and is usually a lot cheaper.

Any request is just that - a request, just to cover themselves - it won't be guaranteed. (unless you pay extra for say a sea view or balcony for example) We sometimes have repeat clients visiting the same hotel, & request a certain room number, in which case we just email the hotel for them.

As for price matching, a lot of high street agents now offer this, as saveapenny said, as long as we can see the price is still available at the time of booking, we 9/10 will beat/match it. (I don't work for Thomas Cook !)
:D I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D
