Northern Rock PPI claim rejection

Hi there,
I am a long time reader of this site but have only just registered. I have a quick question about reclaiming PPI and would appreciate it if someone could give me a bit of advice.
My wife sent a load of letters off to various banks and I am pleased to say that recently she received a £3k repayment on an old Halifax credit card. All of which went on debt, somewhat ironically.
Anyway, yesterday she received a response from Northern Rock or, more specifically, "NRAM" whom she is still paying off a personal loan through.
The reason given was that she had changed the level of cover on the online application from "Gold" to "Bronze" when submitting.
Now, to me this sounds fair enough but I just wanted to check if there is any point in taking this further? I don't want to waste peoples time by complaining about things we are not entitled to.
Her claim for an Egg Visa was also rejected on similar grounds as she had ticked that she had read an understood the terms. She wouldn't have though, of course!
Thanks in advance.

Mis-selling is about how it was sold to you. Either correctly or incorrectly. It is not about mis-buying unless there was some failure in the disclosure method at the time. i.e. pre-ticked boxes are considered bad on mis-bought cases.
You havent indicated what the mis-sale reasons are.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Sorry, it's really for my wife so I only have part of the required information which isn't helpful. I will try to get online tonight when I get home from work and post an update.
Thanks for your response.0
