  • I love my HTC sensation and all this talk of tablets again is making me tingle a little bit.

I'm overall generally quite tight with my money and not really a techi person but I do keep thinking about it. But then I think, i don't really need one. Between the laptop and phone there would maybe be once a month where I "NEEDED" it, which I cannot justify.

but I still have the tingle to get one just for fun.
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

LOl oh no, not talking about that.

Why would i? Wouldn't be worried about the money I'd spend as it would certainly pay itself off and would come in handy more than once a month

    Lol he he he he

Would people really include the whole of the cost of a tablet as a business expense? Maybe i am less restrained than other people but I know there's no way I would be using one wholy and exclusively for mystery shopping - it woukd definitely get used at other times!

I do wonder about including a proportion of the cost of my smart phone as an expense but not its full amount as I use it for personal use as well. Do other people include any of smart phone cost and do you include a percentage each month or a fixed amount each year?

TNS brief money for the phone jobs is in (feel that the phone call I had to receive in the freezing cold was worth it now!)

I have, I use my iPad for MS'ing and feel I can justify it as a pure business expense. I would not need one without Ms Work even though I would want one. My iPhone is the same, I would not need a smart phone with MS work so the difference between the cost of my iPhone and a cheap handset has been claimed.

It all comes down to what you are prepared to argue if needs be, the tax man may decide that I should only claim a percentage if he ever inspects me at which point I will be liable for the tax element of it....it would not be the end of the world if it ever came to it.

I guess it also depends on how healthy your business is, if your only doing a few jobs a month then it would be hard to justify.
  • Re the reactive coffee shops - scenario suggests for two people but then goes on to say about commenting to the barrista about being met if unaccompanied. Can anyone clarify the position on this? Is there likely to be questions if unaccompanied? Theyre a new company for me, trying not to get off on a bad footing.

When you apply, you will need to enter in the text box that you plan to visit alone.

At the counter in the store, you can initiate conversation with the MoS, along the lines that you're expecting someone else, but they haven't shown. It is to give the MoS the impression that you are out on a pleasure jaunt and have all the time in the world. They should behave differently towards you than if you were, for example, on the way to work and in a bit of a rush.

    I hope this helps.

I was on a £20 a month tarif for two years before getting a smart phone which now costs me £40 a month.

I put the extra £20 as a tax cost, as the sole and only reason i got a smartphone was to get email alerts out and about.

I feel that will hold up

As for a tablet. If I were to buy one I would write it off entirely as an expense. I know a lot of shoppers do their report between jobs on tablets and wouldn't be without one. If I did get it, it would be to do this (although as stated little need being part time).

I may then go on to use it for other things e.g. reading a book in bed. But my main and sole reason for getting it would be for business.
