A slang, affectionate term for a child.

"I'm taking the bairns to the match this weekend."

I think it's mostly used here in the North East. But I have heard the sweaty socks using it aswell.

What about the weather today?? It was mental!! 50mph winds, rain, sleet and then snow!! Last week seems like so long ago now.

Why thank you dear. I am sure someone else has mentioned bairns on here before. Went straight over my head.

We only had killer winds and bit of rain in Yorkshire. Hope it does not snow tomorrow. I am meant to be doing a posh dinner and a frozen food shop. Oh!

I am actually beginning to wonder if it is in fact a challenge now by RE/MF to see how many comments they can get on our pages!!! Wonder if they lay bets with the "bookies" on how many they will get in a month!! Lol

Did three of the RA station jobs today as was going to that station on the train anyway. First one actually useful as was able to find something out I genuinely wanted to know. And the other two provided snacks for the journey back.

But the 1000 character comments are a bit tricky. Only done one so far and there was something I could write about there. 0ne of them was a counter - will be interested to see what I come up with lol.

I more or less repeated what I said for the other parts. I enjoyed the ones I did, mind you I like typing and I got each one done in 20 minutes! I cherry picked the ones with the biggest reimbursements, so it was not too bad to be fair. Plus I was in town anyway and another company paid my travel so why not! They were better paying than the ones I did for another company on SASSIE. The pay was a lot less and the reports were huge. How I got roped into that one is beyond me......

I am going to wait until they get desperate and then maybe do more. One of the pharmacies was at x 5 times the original fee today! WOW!

It was probably me! I say bairns all the time as I really can't stand calling them kids :o

Snow is just starting to lay here now. Was out in horizontal sleet walking my dogs earlier, wrapped up in a storm proof coat, woolies and wellies. This time last week, I was out walking them in shorts and t-shirt and caught the sun. Madness!
Here I go again on my own....

    Hmm
Think RA will be annoyed I dropped 2 station visits to pick up 2 better station visits that were dropped by someone else? :P I guess it all technically levels out :)
If they didn't have a limit I would've just done the lot of them tomorrow :D

200 characters to describe none existent seating is a PITA.

I agree they had already asked most of the questions and then wanted 1000 words! How can you talk about one counter for so long?

I did a report for a company who's name fails me at the moment who had a maximum character limit on comments, I found that harder than a minimum.

One bit of waffle carefully edited and reused for each report, cut and paste the relevant section for the other comment boxes. Ten minutes to write and the a couple of mins for each edit.

If they didn't have a limit there wouldn't have been any left for you to take :D

I wrote "This unit has no seating" then kept my finger on the full stop until I got to 200 characters.

I did a batch of 4 a couple of months ago; one of them was the amusements place so there was no counter, no staff, no seating, no product displays and no purchase. Try coming up with 1000 words on that! I haven't done them since, funnily enough. :D
