That is strange since to mystery shop you have to be self employed since none of the main companies employ you therefore have to register as self employed! They would know that since is is a legal requirement!

a lot of people do ms on the side so also have a full time job. i would imagine gfk could get enough people to do these jobs that fit into that criteria :p

if these turn out to be like the business account enquiries for one of their other branch than they will be a right pain as you will be in there ages!

Hmph. Have just applied to Gapbuster. Apparently, I do not fit their criteria!! I speak French fluently, regularly MS for 3 companies. The only thing they maybe didn't like is that I do not have a scanner or a PDA! How annoying. I wanted to work for them too!

  • The GFK share jobs aren't moving and seen to be multiplying. I could see 2 last night, then 6 this morning and they are up to 11 this afternoon. I wonder how any will be there tonight?

You need a 'scanner' to upload your receipts to gap so that will be why. In reality a camera would do, but I would recommend buying a cheap printer/scanner jobby if you want to get more work. Remember you can put it down as an expense on your tax return once you register as self employed.

    Hi folks,

Has anyone registered with www.myconsumerintel.co.uk? there is a link on referrals board, although no one has given feedback on it.

I signed up to them over a year ago, never been offered any mystery shopping. I get sent surveys and they're all 'prize draw' ones. I've never had a penny off them and got so p'eed with them I ignore them now. Not wasting my time for nothing.

To be honest though clippy girl the ones that MS "on the side" are breaking tax laws etc - it is quite easy to register as self employed and a legal responsibility to do so for any income (even a couple of £'s) and self assessment is very easy. Even if under the tax threshold there is still the requirement to register as self employed. If in a full time job then tax evasion... the companies themselves make it quite clear about responsibilities to declare income etc.... oh dear I sound like a moaning old woman but so many people nowadays consider working "on the side" ok... or benefit fraud etc etc...since not declaring means not including on tax credit forms, income forms etc... I'm not implying you do it of course you just happened to comment on it but it seems "lots do it" hopefully GFK will not be looking for people who work "on the side" since I have always found them a professional company in the past and not a company to promote tax evasion or non declaration of income.

This is ridiculous getting "flammed" twice for writing on the alerts board, when I just wanted to help the poster by saying that the jobs had gone! No wonder people get peed off
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

Every time you post on the alerts everyone gets an email who is subscribed. How hard is it to look before you post. People get peed off with it and if you do it expect the come back!
