  • Hi All,

Long time lurker here, usually manage to find the answers I need through searching but am stuck with this one.

I am considering buying a camera for the glasses video assignments, but am wondering if it is worth it? Obviously there is no guarantee they will be allocated to me either, and the equipment is rather alot.

    Any help very much appreciated.

Quick answer. Its £Y (your last option). The sushi is lovely though.

Not lovely enough for me to detour that far to eat it at that rate. Thanks.

Well if that's the case then this is going to be a breeze. I just looked through the sassie questionnaire and there is virtually no narrative.
Lot's to remember tough it must be said but I really wasn't looking forward to printing off all those questionnaires and uploading them.

Think I have slightly misread my email from them - with all the firsts they used I thought it said the first page only but does seem to be only the first visit. Have emailed again to check. When I went into the sassie questionnaire you only seem to be able to add one item to the uploading part so not sure how it would manage multiple pages.

IMHO I think it's worth it. (and I know a few on here will disagree with me judging by what I've read previously)
Obviously you have seen the fees for a circuit on TERN and the average block is about 2.5 times the outlay for the equipment. I've not done these for a few months but my strategy was to apply for about 10 blocks here there and everywhere and as a rule I'd strike lucky with 2 or possibly 3 blocks.
Remember that to cover the whole circuit (usually 12 to 17 shops) you have a whole calendar month and you get a refund of the glasses cost within a few days of sending in the receipt. This means you are not laying out thousands on specs and then being out of pocket for ages.
The downside to these visits is that you need to visit most of them twice; once to do the test and selection and again to collect the specs, so you need to be pretty well organised to complete a circuits.
Schedule a first visit at a shop on a day when you are doing a second visit nearby.

Bear in mind also that there are a number of companies doing more and more video work these days and so you are not limited to just doing the TERN work.
Obviously fees vary wildly from company to company (You need to do about 30 AA video jobs to get what TERN pay for a block.
The equipment itself can be got much more cheaply than the price TERN suggest. I got mine from an American company through ebay about 15 months ago for $449 (£284 at todays exchange rate). They still trade on there.

Cost in a good supply of SD cards too because it just makes life easier to have a couple of spares; batteries too.

Give it a bash. If it doesn't work out you will get 70% of your money back by reselling your equipment on ebay or the like.

you scan each page then paste into a word document page by page. Then convert to pdf and upload the pdf file. At least that's what I had to do for the banking scenario I did for them recently which had loads of documentation to upload together.

Hadn't thought of that - good thing I asked you :)

Guys, sorry to be completely off topic, but we all like the chance to earn some extra money, so don't know if anyone has seen about the risk free Bingo offer on Fabulous Bingo and Sun Bingo? It's a risk free way to get £30 to play on the Bingo, on each site so twice the chances - you have to deposit £10, (and they give you an extra £20 bonus to play), but if you use a refer a friend when you sign up you also get an extra £10 bonus, which is instantly withdrawable, so in effect paying yourself back the £10 you had to deposit.
If you don't win anything then you've lost nothing but 15 mins in front of the computer (and can always just have it in a window in the background whilst doing something else) but there's no silly wagering requirements like lots of sites so if you win then :j :j :j
I got just over £50 from Fabulous Bingo!

The person doing the referring gets a tenner out of it, (hence my shameless request!) so if anyone is interested, then you are worth twenty quid to me!! :p (I know generally on MSE we're not meant to shower referrals everywhere, but there's not often someone board guide-ish on here to tell us off, so I'm sure you'll all let me off because I'm lovely :o
PM me if you're interested so I can give you my usernames for the referral box when you join! Go on, you know you want to.(Oh, and Sun Bingo also gives you £10 on TopCashBack so assuming that tracks, you're onto a wee profit even if you don't win!)
Oh, and a free nail varnish apparently from fabulous bingo!! Lol just keeps getting better!! :D
Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £170

Oh pooh! Postie left a note saying no one was in when he tried to deliver my dictaphone this morning. Mind you, I don't know how many people would be around at 07:20 in the morning. I had already set off for work. I need the dictaphone for tomorrow and the flaming delivery office is miles away. Little old me has no car @ mo. Should I get a taxi there or shall I just drop the bloody phones? :(:(
