As I recall one of them said that you could get a printer for about £20 and that if you weren't able to pay for that, you would be limited with the jobs you can do as a lot of them require purchases etc in advance and you can wait up to 8 weeks for the reimbursement.

While not everyone will agree, if you are relatively new to MS then I suggest you print out job notes. I find you leave less to chance like forgetting a key question to ask, timing point etc.. As was said before you can pick up a cheap printer and shops such as cartridge world refill for much less than a new cartridge. As much as I would love to say MS has made me rich, as this supplements my FT job its just enough to pay my car insurance and a couple of bills each month.. A printer and paper was one of the few things I had to actually outlay for as I already had internet, smart phone (not always necessary but useful) and a half decent laptop. have a look on Hot uk deals for printer offers.
Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk

    same question 3 times...?!?

dare i wonder why i have a rant now and then...kermitcrazy.gif

just sign up to the all, read what there requirements are
print everything , they all need you to print and take notes with you to remind just before you go in, to fill in and in many cases keep and send in to them up to 3 months later
until you have the experience not to be able to do so on every job
but for the majority, you WILL need a printer for ALL companies for this work.
  • Many thanks for your help kst101. Gap's another 'possible' then.

Serendipity2706 - I asked the question initially on 04/02 and again on 05/02 when I was advised that I could do GFK jobs. I wanted to find out about the other companies, hence I asked the question again.

It may surprise you to learn that I am not stupid and fully realise that the advice will not have changed since it was given. I wanted to learn about the specific requirements of other companies, and no one had been able to let me know that information at the point that I wrote my last request.
This is a money saving website I believe, and I know that a printer would be good, but due to my circumstances a printer is not an option at the moment. Hence my attempts to find a short term way to override the need for one, without being in the position of accepting assignments that I cannot complete.

    Thanks for the warm welcome...

If you are able to read things in detail off a computer screen, you can get by without a printer. You will need to DOWNLOAD all the job notes in full and read them in detail. You probably won't be able to remember everything so I suggest you do something as an aide memoire.

eg - write out on a notebook with pen and paper
eg - write a blank text message in your phone

The things I ususally keep in my phone are a blank text with: TIME IN/ TIME OUT; LEFT/RIGHT; # MOS visible; # Customers visible and a few other pointers that I can check quickly on the job to make sure I have everything and make a few notes on my phone while I'm there (covertly).

I save these as a text file in my phone in case there are queries later. You can also save the job notes in PDF on your computer.

Are you referring to the cafes? They have had them a while..nothing to get excited about unless it is a different client form the one I am thinking of.
