I am looking for one of these for my daughters 6th birthday. I have bought the DS but am not so sure now as I have seen the Advance SP and think it may be better for a 6 year old and more compact.
has anyone got any recommendations? also where can I buy a good priced Pink SP?
Thanks

no contest what so ever
stick with the ds
my little girl loves it
better games, better screens etc etc
try
"big brain academy"
or
"brain training"
both top games that you can all have a go at0 -
I got my three kids a Nintendo SP from Gamestation (second hand but like new!) The best thing about these are that you can play the older style games as well as new style (not DS)and these are really cheap (also second hand) BOGOF from Gamestation too.
I paid about £40 each and got loads free games as i bought three. I know this may sound like i was being 'cheap' but my girls (age 6, 7, 9) Love them and dont care about being top of the range and bonus is i dont mind picking up a few games when im in town as they dont cost much.

My 6yo and 4yo sons got a DS each at xmas, and a nintendogs game. Took a little while to get into the game, but now they have they play them a lot.
And they can play all the games from 10yo's old gameboy advance SP*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

Why would he? You're better off getting rid of it. It's like saying "I bought a new car, now I don't drive my old one".0 -
Yeah, gotta agree, my 7 year old got a GBA last April, his ten year old brother got a DS in August. He saw it, didn't play with his GBA at all, always badgering his brother for his DS, eventually had to get him a DS for Christmas purely to stop him annoying his brother. No contest really the DS is by far a better beast."...IT'S FRUITY!"0

I totally agree with the other posters, my boys both have DS now and the GBA's are in the cupboard. Toys R us always does some great bundles and as long as they want the games in the bundles they are a good price. Sell out really quick online though.
tip for a younger player, get a screen protector and put it on, only like a sticky plastic but helps protect from scratches. Game have a good selection of these and cases + other accessories0 -
My daughter has only just turned seven. She has had a DS since she was six and to this day still loves playing on it. There are allsorts of games available for the Ds and you can also play games for the advance on it. The touch sensitive screen makes it all the more playable for chidren and adults (have to confess, have tried this console for myself) Hope this helps.0

DS, and get :
Nintendogs
Brain Academy
Animal crossing
In my opinion, 3 of the best DS games for that age
