Got one in December. At that time I only had one other card, which has always been paid in full every month.

I know 2 other people who got them before the end of December and another person should have a decent credit rating but was rejected recently. Maybe it is a change of policy by Sainsbury rather than anything to do with the applicants?

I got bounced out of their online application saying it needed reviewing.

Recieved an offer but I'd changed my mind and binned it.
    Recieved another.
    And another.
    Recieved last chance.
    And another last chance.

Seems they want some people, but not others. FYI I only have one card and I pay it off every month. I guess that makes me a good customer for them considering their 0% on purchases offer.
    Regards

Got mine in January. Applied at the beginning of January and got my card about 2 weeks later. Swift. Credit limit about £4000.

Hmm, Martin has said in his articles that being card tarts could affect our credit ratings (if I understood him right).

Maybe the banks are looking more closely at what type of cards we apply for and when?

Applied for a Sainsbury's 12mth 0% a few months ago - decent job good money, just got accepted for mortgage, have always had really good credit, at time only one credit card always paid off, turned me down blank. Apparently I didn't pass their credit score - scared me a little got my experian report and found nothing wrong other than not being on the electoral register at my new address yet.

Friends have also had problems with loans - earning 50k a year, no other credit, been turned down yet her retired mum got accepted staight away. I think they are more strict with credit scores which are different to credit checks. Have you moved house or job recently- are you on the electoral register etc?

Anyway I applied to Barclaycard - £3000 limit, and RBS £5400 limit no problems

Carol: like yourself when i got turned down i felt really weird i dont know why, well actaully i do ive never got turned down for a card in my life. It did make me feal better which is bad i guess when my brother got turned down earning 35grand a year but i should not say that because he felt down and he comes round now and again to use the pc and might actaully read this because he looks around on this great forum for deals now and then.
