Judging by my experience as a customer its basically log you in and take vehicle registration, give you a key and a cheery smile. In the morning, take the key back, log you off the system.0

I work in hotels, in an international four star brand, and I love it personally.
It is a challenging role on reception, but hotels can be fun to work for too.0 -

Last time I stayed at Premier Inn, the Receptionist greeted me with a cheery smile and directed me to the automatic check in machines and left me to it, along with a couple of other guests whilst she greeted other newcomers with a cheery smile and directed them to the machines.
Next morning, another Receptionist with a cheery smile was chatting with a customer so I just left my key card with her and that was it!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Ha ha, not as easy as it seems really, will be lucky then if all customers will be really nice and no problems whatsoever!! In reality, there are quite a few admin tasks to complete every day, every reservation and check in has to be as per brand standards, plus it means that on shift you are responsible for all guests health and safety. In addition to this you have to deal with all sorts of people, nice, moany, grumpy... and still be cheerful!! Respond to problems in a timely manner and with a smile! Keep everyone happy, including your manager, be available for any shifts, anytime, at short notice0
