I've just remembered we've got a christmas cake (just the mix, no topping) sitting in a tupperware tub in the cupboard. It hasn't been fed any alcohol since probably December last year. By reading through this and a couple of other posts I realised it may actually be ok, but would love some confirmation.

As I've said it hasn't had any booze for 10 months, though it did have a fair bit when I first made it.

    What shall I do next?

    Hi Pinzy,

It should be fine...can you try a tiny piece from the bottom and if it tastes ok then start 'feeding' it again in preparation for Christmas.

Brill thanks. It still tastes ok, no dodgy looking stuff at all! We've fed it, wrapped it in greaseproof paper and will continue feeding it - will every couple of weeks do?
How much should I feed it? (Just gave it a couple of tablespoons of rum - I realise that may be overdoing it a bit!)
    :)
