Homebuyers Report - Worth the paper they are written on?

We have sold our house and surveys have gone through.
Our buyer had his homebuyer report done by the same company we used when we bought it.
Comparing the 2, they are very similar, sentences copied and pasted word for word. Then in the end they always say we recommend a damp and electrical inspection.
We have just had an offer accepted on a place and I've half a mind just to have the valuation and then get a damp report, electrical report and a roofing company to check that out - they would all know more about their fields than a surveyor anyway.
What do people think?

I think you know the answer.....
We've done just this in the past.
Weasel words in the report mean you generally have little come back0 -
It's what I do if I think something needs looking at

Just make sure you cover all the bases.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks for the replies.
Is there anything else people have done in addition to the electrics, roof and damp/woodworm ?0 -
Getting the roof checked would be a good idea as well as having someone check out the boiler in case it's on it's last legs. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I've just got my report on my new property, on one of the pages it tells me about a recently built extension, problem is there isn't one, spoke to the seller and she confirmed there wasn't one, another example of cut and paste and thanks for the cheque me thinks.!!0
