Options
Hi, we have a busy little catering business which were looking to sell due to deteriorating health.

Have any of you experience or views as to where to advertise it, ive looke at daltons, businessforsale and so on but dont know wheres most effective.

Were looking to sell it privately and not through an agent idealy to reduce costs.

I look forward to your replies.

What about the specialist mags and their websites, most likely Caterer & Hotelkeeper? https://www.caterersearch.com

It’s definitely worth speaking to competitors, to see who is interested. We’re currently about 9 companies (legally) that we’re integrating into one as contracts expire, and I only have reason to believe we’ll be buying a LOT more for the moment.

BusinessesForSale.co.uk has been one we’ve bought through, however with regards to catering, the bottom line is that I don’t have a clue!

    9/10 times we buy privately!

One thing I wanted to mention is that you need to make it clear at outset in any delaings with buyers that the price will not be adjusted downwards at the last moment. Certain people have a habit of doing this right on the eve of completion when they feel the seller will be most desperate and open to a sudden reduction in offer.

What's the point in keeping giving advice when the OP seems to have vanished into thin air
