Keeping Rejected Goods

Options
Hello

In September I purchased a laptop via mail order. The thing did not work and I eventually rejected the laptop under the SOGA and then took the trader to the Small Claims Court where judgement was awarded against them.

Having threatened the bailiffs I have today received a cheque for the amount owed! Hoorah!!!

I initially rejected the laptop in early November and someone at work has told me as this was longer ago than 50 days I am under no obligation to now return the laptop even if they try to collect.

Is there any truth in this? Not sure if they do want it back but after all the hassle I don't really want to help them out!

Any advise gratefully received!

Thanks James.
