La Senza

Options
Hi All,
My sisters have £95 worth of La Senza Vouchers that they were bought for Christmas, in 3 seperate vouchers. They have gone to use them, but the store has said that they La Senza have gone into administration and have been bought out by another company, although 60 stores are trading as a La Senza stores, and have refused to accept the vouchers. The vouchers were purchased for Christmas and were paid for in Cash. Do we have any rights, and can the store refuse to take them?

Administrators tend to see people holding vouchers as creditors and by law all creditors are supposed to be treated equally.

Your sisters need to find the names of the administrators and make a claim. There is no guarantee they will get anything back though

Short answer - yes. Your sisters are now an unsecured creditors of La Senza, which basically means (in theory) you get a share of anything left in the company after a whole raft of other people have had their cut.

Tough lesson to learn, but I'd never recommend buying anyone any kind of voucher as a gift. I prefer to make my own then, when they've chosen what they want, buy it for them in cash.

There are already several threads on this.

You won't be able to use the vouchers, and might get 5p back per £1 if you register as a creditor.
