Item arrived marked - can we try washing it?

Options
hello - we ordered some bedding online which arrived today. However, there is a mark on the duvet cover.

If it washes out, we're not too bothered - but if we try washing it and it doesn't come out, does that change our right to return it? Would we be deemed to have 'accepted' them?

Thanks!

You could always call them and explain the situation first, perhaps tell them you're willing to keep it if it washes out and then ask them whether they want you to return it - at their expense - or try washing it first.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Cheers, may give them a ring first. Never know, they chuck a couple of quid back at me!

If it doesn't wash out and your not too bothered, i'm sure most companies would be willing to offer a fair partial-refund to save all the hussle and expense of replacing it. Usually if your willing to accept a gift voucher you can negotiate a better figure
