Hi, im new to this part of MSE, but need some ideas for a cheap small car to buy i have a £1000 budget for the initial cost of the car, and then obviously would like it to be as low as possible to run and insure ect.
I have been looking at Ford KA's, but im not sure what other cars may be suitable for me to be looking at.
My last car was a toyota Previa (8 seater PC ) Which has killed meto keep running
... so im looking to down grade size wise dramatically to a small car, but im clueless when it comes to the sort of things to be looking for.
I will be using has day to day run about, not long trips up and down motorways.
Any advice please ?

Something like a suzuki wagon r, daihatsu cuore/sirion would suffice. Sirion is a pretty good car, and most of the above will leave you with plenty of change from £1000 to put towards a good service. Plus they're all likely to have been built in the last 8 years.
Alternative go for a an older corsa, fiesta, polo etc. You might get lucky and get something thats reliable, or you might get a rusting money pit. However at least with these spares will be plentiful and mechanics would deal with these cars daily so more likely to get to the bottom of issues rather than try and see with a lesser known korean, malaysian or japanese type.0
