PPI Claim (endownment policy with critical illness cover)

Hi,
When i first got my mortgage i got my mortgage through nationwide. I also got an endownment policy with criticall illness cover (both from Axa) through an independant financial advisor to run along side my mortgage. I make 1 monthly payment to Axa for this.
I beleive i have no ppi with the Nationwide.
Through my independant financial advisor i took out an endownment policy and criticall illness cover with Axa.
My endowntment policy has not performed well and so i went to repayment with no ppi as i beleived the endownment still coverd me for insurance purposes.
My question is, "Would my contract with Axa have ppi and can this be claimed back from them or is it only banks that you can claimback from".
I cannot find any original paperwork to see if there is any mention of ppi or words to that effect.

PPI is short term protection offered by general insurance companies. It is not offered by life assurance companies on life assurance contracts. So, no it does not have it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
