hi, my husband and i have got ourselves into a lot of debt (approx £25k!) through stupidity, loans cc etc. we are struggling now his ot has stopped and my wages have dropped and are considering an IVA having read about it on here
can anyone give me any idea as to how much we would have left/ have to pay a month?between us we bring home about £1700 a month ( him full time, me part time)
we have two little ones who obviousely still need shoes hair cuts school bits clothes birthdays etc !
i have spoken to cccs and they are calling back in 2 weeks time.
just wondering how much they would allow us to live on for food etc

Started comping October 2011, no wins as of yet. Would really love to win a short uk break so we can take the children away
Thank you to everyone who takes the times to post competitions and good luck:j

Hi. Pop over to the beatmydebt website where they have a Living Expenses Guide, which shows you the sort of things you can claim for as well as guideline amounts. Also have a look at https://www.iva.com where there is a list of reputable Insolvency Companies, with reviews. Pick up the phone and have a chat with a couple ( one I would suggest as a "must call" is Melanie Giles ). It's important to compare advice ( different IP's work in slightly different ways) and to find someoine you are comfortable to work with for 5 or 6 years. CCCS have a lot of happy clients, but are not the fastest horse in a race ! They will be likely to pass you on to their sister company, CCSVA, or Grant Thornton.
The advice on iva.com is free and without obligation. Also discuss the ins and outs of bankruptcy and debt management plans ( which I am not a fan of at all, but they are sometimes the best solution for some people).0 -

Hi there. I can also recommend Melanie Giles. She and her team were very helpful and understanding and made the whole process run smoothly. The iva.com website is a great place to start as there are many practitioners representing different companies that can give you impartial and free advice. Good luck0
