Does anyone know of any companies offering some sort of (cheap) assembly service?

Friends, family and neighbours are the most MSE :money: options, but if you want to pay then find a 'Handyman' advertising in the local papers or phonebook0

Some of the furniture retailers offer a build service but it won't be cheap. Your best bet if you want the furniture assembled properly is to hire a handyman/carpenter. Unless your frtiends/family/neighbours are competent DIY'ers then you may end up with a bodged job and it's going to be awkward blaming friends/family.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0

Hi usr1gt.
I bought a wardrobe and dresser from Argos, and it had been sat in my living room for weeks waiting for hubby to put it together!
If you're a bit clueless with these things and have a useless husband like me, have a look at these: http://www.furniture-assembly.org.uk/.
I used them last week. Fab service, and not too pricey.
Good luck0 -
I am a bit odd in that I love putting together furniture
I thought the whole point of buying flat-pack was to save money? If you're only going to pay someone else to put it together you may have well have spent the extra money on ready built stuff. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I'd say it depends where in the country you are. My friend in North Bucks used AB Interiors www.abinteriors.biz to do hers when she was pregers but not a lot of point my recomending them to you if you're in Cornwall coz they don't go down that far for example.0

A local handyman is what you need. Flat pack furniture is bread and butter to a handyman. I would have done it full time if I could have got the work, when I was a handyman for a while.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Thanks all for the advice all I have a few pieces of furniture to put together and with work commitments at the moment I just haven't the time. Think I'll look in the local ads for decent handyman.0

Where are you based? Some one local to you may be able to recommend some one.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Thank you all for the sound advice I rang a few places up but went with your suggestion darbydoo. I'm working long hours at the moment and Furniture Assembly were able to send fitters round when I was in and were not too pricey. :money:0
