is there any other way?

i have a main pc with printer connected via usb (brother),i have a wireless router to connect kids lappys,however kids like to print homework etc,is there a way to connect the printer wirelessly for them to print from their lappy without paying about £60 for the printer dongle thing ???

  • You would need to make the printer shared and accessible via the other computers. However the PC that the printer is connected to would have to be on all the time unless your printer has an ethernet/lan port.

    I have something similar and it works quite well.

    go into printers and faxes (winXP)

    right click on the printer and select sharing and set it to everyone.

    ok done that,....now how do i print from my laptop?

    i dont use wireless so i could be talking crap...but.

    goto printers...

    add printer

    network printer

    browse for a printer and look for the printers name.

    follow everything else it tells you.
